About this floor
Opus Palm Cay
Palm Cay: a wide-plank Opus European oak
Palm Cay is one of the wide colors in the Opus Hardwood collection: European oak at 9-1/2″ across, in random lengths up to 7-1/3′. It is meant for open living areas where a wider, longer board keeps the floor from looking busy.
Look and design
Opus lists the grade as light rustic and the color treatment as smoked/stained. On a 9-1/2″ face, those knots and grain lines have room to show without crowding each other. Opus doesn't provide a written description of the shade, so look at a full-size board in daylight and in the evening before you decide.
Construction and specs
The 5/8″ engineered plank has a 4mm European oak wear layer under a UV-cured urethane finish. Wider boards mean more coverage per box: 28.42 sq ft. Item number OPUS95PC4.
Where it works best
Great rooms, living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and home offices.
Installed by our licensed flooring contractor team
Wide planks show subfloor dips more than narrow ones, so our crews check flatness carefully and correct low spots. The install method isn't listed on the spec; we confirm it for your subfloor before ordering. Read about our hardwood floor installation, browse Opus floors, or compare Opus Abrahams Bay.
