Our crew tore out about 600 square feet of tile and carpet, then cleaned, floated and ground the subfloor level before the new floor went in: an engineered hardwood floor installed in about two days with a glue-down method.

Floors for Hillside Homes and Condos
Encino stretches from the Sepulveda Basin south across Ventura Boulevard into the hills, between Tarzana to the west and Sherman Oaks to the east.
Many homes south of the boulevard are larger hillside houses with stairs and several levels. North of it, many streets have single-story homes and condos. For stairs we match treads and nosing to the new floor. On a concrete slab we test moisture and usually recommend engineered hardwood, glued down, as on the project above. For condos, check your building's rules on hard flooring and underlayment before you choose.
How We Install Hardwood
1. Free in-home estimate
We come to your home, measure each room, check the subfloor and talk through options. We bring flooring samples to your home.
2. Subfloor and moisture check
On a concrete slab we test for moisture before we quote. On a raised wood subfloor we check for flatness and loose or squeaky spots.
3. Removal and prep
Our crew removes the old flooring and preps the subfloor, including leveling where it is needed.
4. Installation and trim
We glue, nail or float the new floor to suit your subfloor and product, then finish the stairs and trim.
Engineered or solid?
Both are real wood. Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer on a layered core, so it moves less as humidity changes, and it is the usual choice on a concrete slab, glued down or floated. Solid hardwood is one piece of wood through the whole plank and goes over a raised wood subfloor, nailed down. Engineered floors like the one in the project above can be glued straight down on a leveled slab.

Can a previously sanded hardwood floor be refinished again?
Sometimes, if enough wear layer remains. We also refinish hardwood, so we can check your floor during the estimate and talk through refinishing or replacing it.

Yes. We match treads and nosing to the new floor and plan the transitions at each landing.
Can I buy flooring without installation?
Yes. You can buy material only or have us install it. Delivery available, charged separately based on job site location and project size.
