Vinyl and waterproof floors are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and active households.
Vinyl plank (SPC and WPC) is our go-to for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and homes with pets. Here is how a vinyl and waterproof flooring installation in Los Angeles works with our crew.
How vinyl and waterproof flooring installation works
- Free in-home estimate. We measure every room, check the subfloor and help you compare vinyl plank styles. You get an exact quantity and price with no obligation.
- Removal and prep. We remove and haul away the old flooring, then flatten the subfloor. Rigid vinyl hides small dips, but not humps, cracks or loose tile.
- Installation. Most click-lock vinyl plank floats over the subfloor; some products are glued down, for example in commercial spaces. We follow the manufacturer’s method and leave the required expansion gap.
- Trim and walkthrough. We finish transitions, baseboard or quarter round and stair nosing, then walk the floor with you.
Subfloor prep for vinyl plank
On a concrete slab we check moisture and flatness, grind high spots and level low spots. Old tile can stay only if it is flat and solid; otherwise we remove it. Over a raised wood subfloor we fix squeaks and loose panels first. In bathrooms we pay extra attention around toilets, tubs and door jambs so the floor is cut and sealed cleanly.
What affects the cost of vinyl plank installation
Total square footage, the vinyl plank you choose (SPC or WPC, thickness, wear layer), removing the old floor, how much leveling the subfloor needs, stairs, and transitions and baseboard. You get an exact price after the free in-home estimate.

Vinyl and waterproof flooring FAQs
Is vinyl plank really waterproof?
The planks themselves are waterproof, which is why we use them in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Water that gets under the floor at walls or openings can still reach the subfloor, so spills should be wiped up.
SPC or WPC: which should I choose?
SPC has a rigid stone-composite core and is very dent resistant. WPC has a foamed core that feels softer and quieter underfoot. We can show you both at the showroom.
Can vinyl plank go over my existing tile?
Sometimes. If the tile is flat, solid and not too high at the doorways, we can install over it; otherwise we remove it. We decide at the in-home estimate.
Do you install vinyl plank on stairs?
Yes. We install vinyl stair treads with matching stair nosing.
