Sherman Oaks divides naturally at Ventura Boulevard. South of the boulevard, homes climb into the hills toward Mulholland on sloped lots, often with stairs, split levels and large windows. North of it, the flat streets have mid-century ranch homes and a lot of condos and apartments near the 101 and the Galleria.
Hillside homes mean stairs, landings and level changes, so we plan stair nosings, treads and transitions as part of the floor rather than as an afterthought. Strong afternoon sun through big windows can also fade some finishes, so it’s worth comparing a few colors at the showroom in natural light. For condos, we confirm the HOA’s sound requirements before recommending products and underlayment.
Many Sherman Oaks remodels pair wide-plank engineered oak in living areas with waterproof vinyl plank in kitchens and baths. If you have original floors, we’ll check whether refinishing is an option first. Sherman Oaks is a short drive east on the 101 from our Woodland Hills showroom.
