Overview

Opus Velas is a European oak engineered hardwood floor from Opus Hardwood. It has a 4mm real-wood top layer, 5/8″ overall, in 10-1/4″ wide planks up to 7-1/3′ long.

Color and Appearance

Opus does not publish a written description for Velas, so we recommend seeing a sample in our showroom or at home before you decide. Because it is real wood, every plank is different.

Construction

Engineered construction pairs a real hardwood wear layer with a cross-layered core. It moves less than solid wood through Southern California’s dry Santa Ana winds and seasonal humidity changes. The 4mm top layer leaves material for future sanding and refinishing.

Installation

Our crews check your subfloor for moisture and flatness, acclimate the flooring, and install it to Opus’s published instructions. Learn more about our hardwood flooring installation.

Opus flooring is ordered through the distributor. Call to confirm current availability and lead time, and ask about delivery to your home or job site, or pickup from our store.

Care

• Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
• Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
• Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
• Keep indoor humidity steady to limit seasonal gaps.

Can I see a sample before I buy?

Yes. Ask us to set aside a sample at our Woodland Hills showroom, or request a free in-home estimate and we will bring samples so you can see the color in your own light.

Can it go over concrete?

Engineered hardwood can usually be glued down or floated over a dry, flat slab after a moisture test. We check your subfloor during the estimate and follow Opus’s installation guidelines.

Do you install Opus flooring?

Yes. Our installers handle subfloor checks, moisture testing, acclimation, installation and finishing details.

Wood is a natural material. Color, grain and character vary from board to board and from samples; screens and lighting change how a floor looks. Please view a physical sample before ordering.
