Opus Prado

Overview

Opus Prado is a European oak engineered hardwood floor from Opus Hardwood. It has a 4mm real-wood top layer, 5/8″ overall, in 9-1/2″ wide planks up to 7-1/3′ long.

Color and Appearance

Opus does not publish a written description for Prado, so we recommend seeing a sample in our showroom or at home before you decide. Because it is real wood, every plank is different.

Construction

Engineered construction pairs a real hardwood wear layer with a cross-layered core. It moves less than solid wood through Southern California’s dry Santa Ana winds and seasonal humidity changes. The 4mm top layer leaves material for future sanding and refinishing.

Installation

Care

• Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
• Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
• Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
• Keep indoor humidity steady to limit seasonal gaps.

Can it go over concrete?

Engineered hardwood can usually be glued down or floated over a dry, flat slab after a moisture test. We check your subfloor during the estimate and follow Opus’s installation guidelines.

Do you install Opus flooring?

Yes. Our installers handle subfloor checks, moisture testing, acclimation, installation and finishing details.

Wood is a natural material. Color, grain and character vary from board to board and from samples; screens and lighting change how a floor looks. Please view a physical sample before ordering.
