Overview
From Johnson Hardwood’s Skyview line, Lightning is an SPC rigid core vinyl flooring. Skyview is waterproof, scratch-resistant WaterShield SPC with wide embossed planks, from stormy grays to wheat tans. Johnson lists Lightning with a light color tone, medium variation from plank to plank and a low gloss level. Dimensions: 9″ wide, 7.5mm thick (6.0 + 1.5mm Pad), 30 Mil Wear Layer wear layer. Length: 60″ (5′ Nominal). Surface: registered embossing (EIR); finish: 30 mil wear layer; edge: beveled edge. Install options: unilin angle-tap. Color and Appearance
Johnson lists Lightning as a light color tone with medium color variation between planks, and a registered embossing surface. Registered embossing means the texture follows the printed grain, so knots and grain lines feel real, not just look real. Johnson does not publish a written color description, so we recommend seeing it in person in our showroom or at home before you decide.
Construction
SPC (stone-polymer composite) cores are very dense, so the planks resist denting and stay flat over minor subfloor imperfections. Johnson markets this series with its WaterShield water-resistant construction. It is a practical choice for kitchens, laundry rooms, rentals and homes with pets.

Care
- Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly.
- Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid steam mops, wax and oil soaps.
- Wipe up spills promptly, even on water-resistant floors.
- Use felt pads under furniture and avoid rubber-backed mats, which can discolor vinyl.
