Johnson Hardwood Olympus Ares

Overview

Johnson Hardwood Olympus Ares is an oak engineered hardwood floor from Johnson Hardwood’s Olympus series, with a 1.2mm Sliced real-wood top layer and 1/2″ overall thickness. The planks are 11-7/8″ wide.

Specifications

Color and Appearance

Johnson lists Ares as a light color tone, and a light wire-brushed surface. Because it is real wood, every plank is different. Johnson does not publish a written color description, so we recommend seeing a sample in our showroom or at home before you decide.

Construction

Engineered construction pairs a real hardwood wear layer with a cross-layered core. It moves less than solid wood through Southern California’s dry Santa Ana winds and seasonal humidity changes, and Johnson rates it for on-, above- and below-grade installs. A thinner wear layer is best screened and recoated rather than fully sanded.

Installation

Our crews check your subfloor for moisture and flatness and install to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Johnson lists these methods: Staple, Cleat, Glue/Glue Assist. We choose nail-down, glue-down or floating based on your subfloor and rooms. Learn more about our hardwood flooring installation.

Johnson Hardwood flooring is ordered through the distributor. Call to confirm current availability and lead time, and ask about delivery to your home or job site, or pickup from our store.

Care

• Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
• Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
• Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
• Keep indoor humidity steady to limit seasonal gaps.

Warranty Summary

Johnson lists this floor with a 35 Year Limited Residential warranty. Warranty coverage depends on proper installation, care and use, and has exclusions. Read the full terms on Johnson Hardwood’s warranty page.
