Johnson Public House Old Fashioned is an SPC rigid core vinyl flooring from Johnson Hardwood’s Public House collection. Public House is a WaterShield SPC rigid core floor with a thick 30-mil wear layer, five-foot planks and registered embossing, in a rustic tavern style. Johnson describes Old Fashioned as having a dark color tone, medium variation from plank to plank and a low gloss level. Plank size: 7″ wide, 7.5mm thick (6.0 + 1.5mm Pad), 30 Mil Wear Layer wear layer. Length: 60″ (5′ Nominal). Surface: registered embossing (EIR); finish: 30 mil wear layer; edge: painted bevel. Color and Appearance

Johnson lists Old Fashioned as a dark color tone with medium color variation between planks, and a registered embossing surface. Registered embossing means the texture follows the printed grain, so knots and grain lines feel real, not just look real. Johnson does not publish a written color description, so we recommend seeing it in person in our showroom or at home before you decide.

Construction

SPC (stone-polymer composite) cores are very dense, so the planks resist denting and stay flat over minor subfloor imperfections. Johnson markets this series with its WaterShield water-resistant construction. It is a practical choice for kitchens, laundry rooms, rentals and homes with pets.
