About this floor
European White Oak Playa Engineered Hardwood
Playa: an engineered European white oak floor for everyday homes
Playa is part of our European White Oak specials and shares their specs: a 7.5″ engineered plank faced with real European white oak. It fits remodels where you want the character of white oak but need a floor that handles Southern California's swings in humidity.
Look and design
The spec lists European white oak in random lengths of 1′ to 6′. Because the boards vary in length and grain, the finished floor reads as natural wood rather than a pattern. There is no written description of the shade, so we suggest seeing it next to your cabinets, paint or furniture.
Construction and specs
A 2mm white oak wear layer sits on a cross-layered core, for a 1/2″ plank. Engineered construction like this expands and shrinks less than solid oak, which helps keep gaps small through the seasons.
Where it works best
Home offices, bedrooms, hallways, entries, and living and dining rooms.
Installed by our licensed flooring contractor team
The method is not listed for Playa, so it is matched to your subfloor at the in-home estimate. Our crews check moisture and flatness and let the boards acclimate before they start. Care & installation
Install, care & delivery
Installation
Our crews check your subfloor for moisture and flatness, allow the boards to acclimate, and choose an installation method that suits your subfloor. Learn more about our hardwood flooring installation.
Care
- Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
- Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
- Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
- Keep indoor humidity steady. Very dry air can cause small seasonal gaps.
Delivery
Delivery available, charged separately based on job site location and project size.
