About this floor
European White Oak Deserto Engineered Hardwood
Deserto: the promoted color in our European white oak specials
Deserto is the lead color of our European White Oak specials: a 7.5″ engineered plank with a real European white oak top. If you are comparing white oak floors for a whole-house project, it is the color we point people to first on our hardwood specials page.
Look and design
The spec lists European white oak in a 7.5″ width and random lengths of 1′ to 6′. That spread of short and long boards gives a busier, more natural joint pattern than fixed-length planks. We don't describe the tone in words because no written color description exists, and photos shift on every screen; see a board before you commit.
Construction and specs
Deserto is 1/2″ overall with a 2mm wear layer of European white oak over a cross-layered engineered core. The thinner profile helps where floor height matters, such as doorways and transitions to tile.
Where it works best
Bedrooms, living and dining rooms, hallways and home offices.
Installed by our licensed flooring contractor team
No install method is listed on the spec, so we confirm the method for your subfloor at the estimate. Our crews test moisture, check flatness and acclimate the wood. More on our hardwood installation work, or compare it with Playa.

Care
- Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
- Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
- Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
- Keep indoor humidity steady. Very dry air can cause small seasonal gaps.

Questions
About Deserto
Is Deserto solid or engineered?
Engineered: a 2mm European white oak wear layer over a layered core, 1/2″ thick overall.
Why choose Deserto's 1/2″ profile?
A thinner plank can make transitions to tile or carpet easier; we check heights at your estimate.
