Wellesley: solid European oak from the Colonial Collection
Wellesley is the solid hardwood option in the Colonial Collection: 3/4″ European oak, 5″ wide, rather than an engineered plank. It suits homeowners who prefer traditional solid boards over a wood subfloor.
Look and design
Colonial grades Wellesley as rustic with a smoked/stained color treatment, so knots and tone variation are part of the look. The narrower 5″ width and lengths up to 4′ give a traditional board rhythm that fits older homes and classic interiors. Colonial doesn't publish a color description.
Construction and specs
Each board is solid European oak, 3/4″ thick, with a UV-cured urethane finish. A box covers 22.60 sq ft. Solid wood reacts more to humidity changes than engineered flooring, so acclimation matters.
Where it works best
Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and home offices over a suitable wood subfloor. Solid hardwood isn't a slab product, so for concrete we'd point you to an engineered Colonial plank.

- Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
- Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
- Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
- Keep indoor humidity steady to limit seasonal gaps.
