About this floor
Vellichor Artist Morisot
Morisot: smoked oak from Vellichor's Artist collection
Morisot belongs to Artist, the Vellichor line built around smoked oak. Smoking reacts with the tannins in the wood, so the color runs into the fiber instead of sitting on top, and Morisot pairs that treatment with a thick 3/4″ plank.
Look and design
A wire brush lifts the softer grain, leaving a textured face that feels like real timber under bare feet. Planks are 7-1/2″ across and vary in length up to 75″. Because Vellichor offers no written description of the smoked shade, judge it in natural light before committing.
Construction and specs
Below the smoked surface: 4mm of European oak on a 3/4″ engineered build, coated with an aluminum-oxide UV lacquer from PPG. Cartons hold 23.31 sq ft; Vellichor's reference is VC-908. A soft broom and felt pads keep the lacquer looking even.
Where it works best
Rooms where a deeper, smoked tone suits the furniture: living and dining areas, primary bedrooms, a study.
Installed by our own crews
Vellichor's listing gives no install method, so our crews settle on one after inspecting the subfloor, then let the boxes acclimate indoors. More on hardwood installation, the Vellichor brand page, and Metropolitan Marseille.
