From Somerset’s Color Strip line, Mocha is a red oak solid hardwood. Somerset makes its solid and SolidPlus floors in the USA from Appalachian lumber it grades, dries and mills itself. Size: 2-1/4″ , 3-1/4″ wide, 3/4″ thick. Details: surface: smooth; finish: Ultimate UV-cured aluminum oxide/urethane. It can be installed by per somerset’s solid installation guide; we confirm the method at your estimate.

Somerset does not publish a written description for Mocha, so we recommend seeing it in person in our showroom or at home before you decide. Because it is real wood, every plank is different.

Construction

Solid hardwood is one piece of wood from top to bottom, so it can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. It is nailed or stapled over a wood subfloor and is not recommended directly over concrete.

  • Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
  • Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
  • Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries.
  • Keep indoor humidity steady to limit seasonal gaps.
