Overview

Somerset Classic Sable is an oak solid hardwood floor from Somerset’s Classic collection, with a low gloss, textured factory finish. The solid version is 3/4″ thick in 2-1/4″, 3-1/4″ widths; the SolidPLUS engineered version is 1/2″ thick in 3-1/4″, 5″ widths.

Color and Appearance

Somerset does not publish a written description for Sable, so we recommend seeing a sample in our showroom or at home before you decide. Because it is real wood, every plank is different.

Construction

Solid hardwood is one piece of wood from top to bottom, so it can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. It is nailed or stapled over a wood subfloor and is not recommended directly over concrete. Somerset also makes this color as SolidPLUS engineered flooring, a multi-ply engineered board that is more stable and can go over a slab.

Sweep or vacuum (hard-floor setting) regularly to remove grit.
Clean with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood floors. Never wet-mop or steam.
