About this floor
Somerset Classic Character Wheat
Overview
Wheat is one of the colors in Somerset’s Classic Character collection, made as an oak solid hardwood; also made as solidplus engineered hardwood. Somerset mills, dries and finishes its own Appalachian hardwood in the USA, so it controls the process from lumber grading to finishing. Size: 3-1/4″ , 5″ wide, 1/2″, 3/4″ thick. Surface: textured; finish: ultimate UV-cured aluminum oxide/urethane. Installation: per somerset’s solid and engineered installation guide; we confirm the method at your estimate. See Wheat at our Woodland Hills showroom at 21030 Victory Blvd, or ask us for pricing and availability.
Color and Appearance
Somerset does not publish a written description for Wheat, so we recommend seeing it in person in our showroom or at home before you decide. Because it is real wood, every plank is different.
Construction
Solid hardwood is one piece of wood from top to bottom, so it can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. It is nailed or stapled over a wood subfloor and is not recommended directly over concrete. Somerset also makes this color as SolidPLUS engineered flooring, a multi-ply engineered board that is more stable and can go over a slab.
