Overview
Birch Chestnut is one of the colors in Artisan Hardwood’s Canyon Estate collection, made as a birch engineered hardwood. Canyon Estate is Artisan’s take on rustic modernism: heirloom craftsmanship with heavily distressed character, reinterpreted for today’s homes. Each plank measures 5″ wide and 3/8″ thick, with a 2 mm top layer, in random lengths up to 4′. Finish: 12 UV coatings (2 of aluminum oxide; 8 of polyurethane; 2 of scratch resistant). Construction
Engineered construction pairs a real hardwood wear layer with a cross-layered core. It moves less than solid wood through Southern California’s dry Santa Ana winds and seasonal humidity changes. The top layer can be screened and recoated to refresh the finish.
