Flooring in Glendale, CA

Glendale sits where the Verdugo Mountains meet the eastern end of the Valley, and its housing stock is unusually varied for one city. Rossmoyne and the older streets around Adams Hill are known for 1920s and 1930s Spanish Revival and Tudor homes, many still on their original oak strip floors. Verdugo Woodlands and the canyon streets lean toward mid-century ranch houses, while the blocks near downtown and the Americana have newer condos built over concrete.

Each of those calls for a different approach. In an older home, our first question is whether the original hardwood can be sanded again or should be matched and patched, rather than torn out. For condos on a slab, we look at engineered hardwood or waterproof vinyl and check the building’s sound-underlayment rules before you order anything. In ranch homes, the job is often joining rooms that were floored at different times so the house reads as one continuous floor.

Glendale is a straight drive east on the 101 and 134 from our Woodland Hills showroom. Bring photos of your rooms and we’ll talk through options, then measure at your home before quoting.

Flooring Remodels: Removal, Subfloor Prep and Install

A flooring remodel starts with removing your old flooring. We then check and prep the subfloor so the new floor sits flat, install it, and finish the trim. If your remodel includes stairs, we install those too.

Glendale flooring FAQs

Can original oak floors in an older Glendale home be refinished?
Yes. Along with new hardwood installation, we also sand and refinish existing hardwood floors. During your free in-home estimate we’ll look at your current floor and tell you whether refinishing or a new floor makes more sense.

Do Glendale condo buildings have flooring rules?
Many HOAs require a minimum sound rating or a specific underlayment. Get your building’s requirements in writing and we’ll choose a product and underlayment that meet them.

Do you come to Glendale for estimates?
Yes. We measure and check the subfloor at your home before giving you a written quote. We also serve nearby Pasadena.

On a concrete slab we install engineered hardwood, usually glued down after a moisture test. Over a raised wood subfloor, boards can be nailed down. Our own crew removes the old floor, preps, installs and finishes the trim. Buying material only? Delivery available, charged separately based on job site location and project size. In condos with sound rules, bring the building's requirement and we match the underlayment to it.
