Quartz

An engineered stone surface, quartz countertops are very durable. This material is designed specifically for use as a countertop. Made up of primarily quartz, these countertops do contain other minerals and are bound together with resin.

One benefit of quartz is that it is available in a wide variety of colors. It can also be designed to look like marble with “veins” along its surface. Quartz countertops are very resistant to scratching and staining.

Porcelain

Similar to quartz, porcelain is also an engineered surface. It was one of the first engineered stone countertop surfaces to be used andit typically has the widest variety in colors, textures, and styles. Porcelain is a very durable material, and heat resistant as well.

Granite

Usually, the first on any list of countertop materials, granite is by far the most common material used today. Previously used only in high-end projects due to the high cost associated with it, granite has become more affordable over the years without losing its reputation as a high-quality option.

Strong and durable, granite is a great option for anyone looking for a natural stone countertop.

Soapstone

Another natural stone, soapstone has started to gain ground as a sleek alternative to granite. Most commonly a dark gray, soapstone offers shades of greens and grays. It does require a bit more maintenance than other options, needing to be treated with mineral oil, but for those looking for a unique and antique look for their kitchen there is no better option.

Limestone

One of the most affordable countertop styles, limestone is great for a warmer look to your kitchen. Available in softer tones, such as beige and bluish gray, limestone countertops bring a brightness to any kitchen.
